Fieldwork: Upper Midwest United States

As part of the Archaeology Laboratory team at Augustana University, I have conducted fieldwork on behalf of a wide variety of stakeholders in South Dakota, Minnesota, and Iowa. Much of this fieldwork is undertaken to ensure compliance with state and federal historic preservation laws that protect historical properties, including archaeological sites.

This cultural resource management fieldwork also involves background research, reconnaissance survey, pedestrian survey, subsurface testing, and report writing. More broadly, this work contributes to the documentation and protection of historic sites by providing insights that can help to mitigate the impacts that modern human activities (i.e., construction, utilities installation) have on cultural resources in the Upper Midwest.

Points on this map indicate cities closest to project locations.  Actual fieldwork sites are not shown to protect confidentiality.
